Online Classes: Midterm Edition

Happy Midterms everyone!

So being that this is my first semester taking ALL online classes I thought I would give you some advice on what I do when midterms begin.

#1. Make sure you have been reading the lectures, watching the videos and participating frequently through out the class. I know some people don’t do this because they think it is an online course and it will be easy but trust me catch up now or by time the final comes around you wont know anything that is going on and you don’t want to fail.

#2. MOST ( not every)  online classes allows you to use your textbook and notes for your tests and midterms , so make sure you keep your notes organized and all the lectures printed out and up to date.  But double check you are allowed to use them!

#3. When taking the midterm make sure you are in a quiet place where the internet will not go out! Sometimes when I am taking them my internet at home goes in and out and I have no idea why so instead of getting kicked off the test and not being able to go back I go to Starbucks. Most of the time places like that or libraries have a very strong internet connection because of how many people are using it.

#4. Remember your being timed and if you exit out or change browsers you will be kicked off the test! Some teachers allow you to take breaks and go back and finish but not always so make sure you read the directions before you start the test.

#5. Lastly, make sure there are no short answers or essays. Sometimes you will only get an hour to finish a test and there are 40 questions and two short answers, you want to make sure you have notes before hand on what to write for the short answers to help you save time and be allow you to go back if you need to.

Online classes are great and defiantly help you work and go to school but you have to remember they are still a class and you need to devote the right amount of time to them!

GoodLuck!
