Holiday Festivities

The holiday season is among us, which means it’s a great time to explore the city looking for the best activities and spots for gifts!  Every single year, New York lights up with holiday cheer and anticipation for the big New Year festivity.  Here are some of my favorite spots to feel the excitement of the holiday time:

  • Rockefeller Center: While this can be incredibly busy, overwhelming, and filled with tourists, it is a truly iconic symbol of the holiday time in New York.  If you haven’t witnessed the beauty of the tree and the excitement of the vast skating rink, it is definitely a spot that you have to check off your bucket list.
  • Winter Village at Bryant Park: This spot is a New York classic, only second to Rockefeller Center.  The Winter Village at Bryant Park not only has a beautiful ice skating rink, but about 100 shops and eateries to delight your tastebuds and find the perfect gifts for families and friends.
  • STORYThis is far from your usual shopping experience.  STORY is a retail store that changes “themes” or “stories” every few months, rotating out inventory that fits with the theme of the store at that time.  This winter’s story (now – December 31st) is “Home for the Holidays” which has all of the unique holiday gifts you could ever ask for.  It truly is one of a kind and you could easily do all of your holiday shopping in the single store.
  • Union Square Holiday Market: This market is hands-down one of my FAVORITE markets in all of New York.  Not only is it easily accessible and conveniently located in Union Square, it radiates the joy and excitement of the holiday time.  It is packed to the brim with stores and small restaurant booths.

Happy holidays!
