L.E.S Galleries with an Art Curator

Hey there! Last week was a really exciting day, because it was the first time I’ve been gallery hopping in New York, I know it’s crazy! I went with my friend who is an art curator, she explained to me what her job consist of and what she looks at when picking art. It was really interesting getting to listen to her talk and make comments about paintings. Usually gallery exhibitions tend to have only contemporary art, which isn’t really my thing, but it was great hearing my friend tell me why she loved the art pieces, which made me appreciate them more.

Gallery hopping in the Lower East Side is really fun and supper trendy. There are bars, coffee shops and restaurants all along the streets, and in between you’ll discover tiny galleries. I really loved this experience and if you’re someone who loves art and discovering new artist, I highly recommend going gallery hopping either in LES or Chelsea, I prefer LES, just because it’s a cuter neighborhood and less upscale.

Have you ever gone gallery hopping? What was it like?

xoxo
