Thanksgiving Break To-Do List

With being from Michigan, plane tickets get incredibly expensive around the holiday time.  With winter break being just a mere 4 weeks away, I figured that it would be better if I stayed here for Thanksgiving rather than go home for 4 days.  Since I was all by my lonesome self, I decided that I’m not going to let being alone in New York City, of all places, stop me from having a good time.  If you happen to be here next year around Thanksgiving, here are some fun activities that you can do:

  1. Go to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloon Inflation – the Wednesday afternoon/evening before Thanksgiving Day.  You get to be up close and personal with all of the balloons seen in the one and only Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade the following morning. Unfortunately, it was very rainy, so I recommend bringing an umbrella just in case, as well as gloves and a warm jacket.  It’s lots of fun and puts you in the holiday spirit!  And if you enjoyed it that much, you don’t necessarily have to go to the parade!

Go Black Friday shopping!  It may seem daunting and exhausting, but it’s a great way to get your holiday gift shopping done.  The crowds are crazy but it wouldn’t be Black Friday without it!  You can experience Black Friday without the early bird crowds…just go at 10 am on Friday.

3. Get ahead on your work!  Finals start next week so this is the perfect time to get in some early studying and paper-writing.  Peace and quiet.

4. Sleep in!  No one is stopping you!

Happy Holidays!

Ashley
