There are more ways to spring clean besides getting rid of the old and excessive. A new season is a time to reflect on what you would like to change, what you would like to start, and what you would like to de-clutter, both physically and mentally. Here are some of my tips and tricks for starting anew:
- Rearrange your furniture: Rearranging furniture allows me to start fresh and feel as though I’m walking into a new space. It allows me to feel more creative and less stressed with the mundane.
- Try a new recipe: You may discover your new signature dish or a newfound love for a type of cuisine. Get your friends involved and invite them over to get in on the fun!
- Read a new book: See my previous post about motivational books to get you inspired!
- Purchase a piece of artwork: I’m not referring to a very expensive piece of art, maybe something found in Union Square or on Etsy or from an FIT student, but adding a new piece of art to your apartment or home can spruce up the atmosphere!
- Treat yourself: Whether you are treating yourself to a manicure, an ice cream cone, or spa night at home, try your best to pamper yourself!
