My first photography class at FIT!

Today was my first Precollege course at FIT. The day started out when I hopped on the train to Penn Station. Surprisingly, the commute was very easy and I had no troubles on the way there or the way back. I finally arrived to my class and as soon as I stepped foot into the classroom everyone said hi to me and I immediately made friends. I know that the friends I make during this experience will last, mostly because we all have the same love for photography. While we were waiting for the professor to arrive, all of us got to know each other and we conversed about our lives and interests until Professor Fader arrived and then we started class.

During class we learned a large amount of information for the first day. I learned all the different settings on my camera and how to make every picture I take look good. Most importantly, I learned from my professor that when you are a photographer you are going to take a lot of pictures and fail but in that mix you will take some amazing shots that you will be pleased with. Tonight my assignment was to take 200 pictures of anything, and I learned that not every picture is going to be perfect you just have to keep trying and you can’t quit. Since I left the doors of FIT, I have had the camera around my neck and I have not taken it off.

I am looking forward to class tomorrow because we are going onto a field trip to the MOMA and I have never been there and I have heard many good things about it so I cannot wait to experience it. It is good that we get to experience field trips and we get to see all different points of view from different photographers and it is going to help expand all the student’s knowledge about photography.

Overall, I love this class so far and I am happy that I chose this specific one. It is going to be difficult at first but I know that nothing comes easy. Even professionals don’t get a perfect shot every time.

I can’t wait to work start working with photoshop and I can’t wait to see all my work at the end of this class because I know that something good will come out of it.
