Saturday, March 7th started with an early flight out of Laguardia for 30 HP-ers, along with Professor David Brogna & Professor Ingrid Johnson. We flew into Chicago’s O’Hare airport and hit the ground running. After dropping our luggage off at our hotel, we set out to explore the beautiful city of Chicago. The weather could not have been any more perfect for this time of year!
We walked the Magnificent Mile, stopping in a few retail stores to check out their Home Furnishing departments, of course. Chicago is home to Crate & Barrel’s flagship store, so we had to check that one off our list. All the while, this day was meant for bonding — even though our group is already extremely close. It was fun to experience this new city together.
One special stop was the Bloomingdale’s purely filled with all things home. The building was full of character and charm complete with stunning stained glass windows in the bathrooms! It was pretty breathtaking against the shiny city skyline and bright blue skies.
We ended our walking tour with The Bean, actually called The Cloud. We spent a good amount of time snapping silly selfies in the warping reflection of the art. Chicago is studded with fantastic art installations, many of which are way larger than life!
Thanks for a good time, Chicago! Can’t wait to be back next year!
