Instructor Spotlight: Kim Nelson

Kim Nelson is an award-winning jewelry designer and CAD model maker who has worked for top jewelry houses across the country for 25 years. Kim started teaching at FIT in 2000, has been full-time faculty since 2013, and is currently the chairperson of the Jewelry Design Department. He teaches jewelry design courses using both traditional and digital media, as well as 3D CAD modeling.

I try to provide a positive learning experience first and foremost. Additionally, while I believe that building skills is important, I feel that increasing understanding is even more critical.
