Daily Routine in NYC

Though the FIT Precollege Program classes are almost over, I still want to tell you guys about where I go on my free time. Who knows, maybe you’ll want to do these things even after the classes are over!

My train pulls in to Penn Station around 12:30, leaving me about an hour to do whatever I want until my class starts. Usually I make my own lunch, but recently I discovered this cute sandwich shop, Pret A Manager, located on 29th and Seventh. Here you can find all kinds of sandwiches, salads, and baguettes that are all freshly made and placed on a buffet-type shelf. You can choose anything you want because they’re all pre-made that morning and continually throughout the day! I highly recommend trying the Chicken and Mozzarella baguette…absolutely delicious! The prices are fair and vary from about $2.00-$10.00 for the pre-made foods.

Anyway, after I grab my lunch, I try to find an open seat in the cafeteria at FIT to quickly eat…no time to waste! Once I finish, I usually go to Starbucks and grab a Mocha Coconut Frappuccino…my fav! If I feel like taking a trip, or if I even have money, I will go check out the latest fashions in Buffalo Exchange. This store never fails to amaze me with the low prices and outrageous clothing! Yesterday, I picked up the cutest floral blouse with a peplum style shape for only $20! Definiely recommend checking that out as well!

During my breaks, my friends and I usually gather at the end of the hallway and chat about random things…just to pass the time. If it’s before 3:00, some girls go to Starbucks to grab a drink before it closes, but most girls grab a snack from the nearest vending machine. I don’t like to go far from the classroom because I wouldn’t want to be late returning to class!

This class has brought me so many friends from all over the world. We have all planned to meet up after class on the last day and spend the night together in the city…maybe go shopping and have a nice dinner in Times Square.

Yes, I am sad that the classes are almost over, but I am happy to say that I’ve had a wonderful experience here and made wonderful friends!

Fino alla volta prossima!
