Can I have another Stem and Leaf Plot example to get ready for the Module 3 Homework Assignment?
ANSWER: Sure!
Let’s make a stem and leaf plot of the following Arithmancy test scores:
56, 65, 82, 64, 71, 78, 77, 86, 59, 69, 70, 80, 76, 82, 85, 109, 73
Our first step will be to rearrange the scores in ascending order:
56, 59, 64, 65, 69, 70, 71, 73, 76, 77, 78, 80, 82, 82, 85, 86, 109
We can now see the min is 56 and the max is 109 so our stems will go from 5 to 10:
Stem |
5 |
6 |
7 |
8 |
9 |
10 |
We now add each leaf!
Stem | Leaf
5 | 6 9
6 | 4 5 9
7 | 0 1 3 6 7 8
8 | 0 2 2 5 6
9 |
10 | 9
Bonus: Which score probably belongs to Hermione? (Extremely intelligent witch and would most likely be the outlier on a difficult exam.)
Hermione most likely got the 109!
