Is there extra credit with homework assignments?
ANSWER: For homework specifically – no. This is because I am always here to help students out with homework questions for those that start their assignment early. I am available to help by Email, in-person or online office hours! I believe all students can get a perfect score in this way and it encourages everyone to start assignments early since I cannot help last minute and need a few days notice.
For other parts of the course I try and help students with their grades:
- For the quizzes, I drop two so you will not penalized for missing two! (I mention that I drop two quizzes in the Course Info documents, Grades Folder, and a Course FAQ post.)
- For the spreadsheet, there will be one extra credit spreadsheet for those that missed one or want to raise their grade. I post this as an announcement around the midterm time. (Along with the bonus points option for spreadsheet 2 that some students might have taken advantage of.)
- There is extra credit on both the midterm and the final exam.
- All students get the chance to make corrections to their spreadsheet assignments to raise their score.
