I need help with Homework 6 and knowing whether we have something positive, negative, or 0.
ANSWER: In the Module, I have a few visual aids that should help you out with knowing what direction we have for a scatterplot. If you are still confused after that then I believe I just need to remind you about something in algebra called the slope!
For question 2 in the homework they are saying that overall there is a certain direction the graphs are going. So looking at A, C, D alone should help you see that in general the graphs have a positive slope. Since I teach algebra, I remind my students with a nice handout image (CLICK ME) – this should always work; that I found on THIS SITE (now down but you can see the web addy). Picture a line going through the points. What direction would the line be?
