David Colby

David is an attorney-at-law, a professor, and a professional negotiator. Coming from an entrepreneurial business planning background, David’s experience includes strategic planning with both the public and private sector, including social enterprise, emerging international markets as well as various art, design, technology and media projects. As Managing Partner of Colby Law Office, David oversees a five attorney law practice with a concentration on intellectual property, contracts and business development and litigation. His law clients range from fashion designers to software application developers and many other types of entrepreneurs.
David has taught at FIT since 2000 and is also a faculty member at Parson’s School of Design (New School University). He holds a B.A. from the University of Maine and a J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law.
