Pics and pins
Since the show there has been a lot of little things going on, one of which was a photo shoot. I was paired with a photographer from school to shoot my work. We did the shoot at the Mac make up lab in NYC and were lucky enough to have a make up artist for the model. The shoot took about 6 hours and we shot most of the work that I have done over the past 2 years. The pics below are just of the collection pieces that did for the show. So after the shoot, i thought that is would be a good idea to make my Graduation dress. I sketched out a few thumbnails on the train. I wanted to utilize fabrics that I have and create something that looks vintage, simple and classy.

Then I took the fabric, just pinned it to the form layer over layer to test out a few ideas. Tomorrow I will start making the real thing.

i’ve been watching this blog for a while, now, but i don’t think i’ve ever gotten over the shy thing to comment before… i just wanted to say, though, that i love that first picture in the photoshoot – and i’m looking forward to seeing the finished graduation dress.
the collection here is simply classic!.. and if that’s going to my graduation dress, i’m sure it’s all going to be memorable.
any one would look gorgeous on that dresss

God you talented. If I tried to sketch out a dress the only think I sure of is that it wouldn’t look as good as the one above.
best wishes
Susan

You should credit the photographer!
I also agree in that not only is the dress beautiful, but the photographer has done a wonderful job! Looking forward to the finished product!
Wow Nasya, you are extremely talented. My favorite is the second pic. The dress is stunning and the photo is awesome!
I have a niece in the fashion institute right now. I am going to forward this to her and see if she knows you.

Jessica,
Thank you for the complements. Best of luck to your niece! I actually graduated 2010, but am always keeping an eye to FIT and admiring the work of the students that are venturing into the fashion industry.
Ooh, I am impressed by your work. Thats wonderful hand made dress.
Thanks for sharing it.
