Bored sitting around at home? Watched everything you can bear to binge online? Missing your major classes? We have suggestions for your fashion inspiration! Here are some lists of movies about fashion people or people who became fashion icons, to fill your head with visions of runways and fabulous parties.

In order to keep you straight, I’m giving you several categories of film here.

There are so many of these pop culture crossovers that I couldn’t get them all into one post, so stay tuned for the second lot next week. All links go directly to StyleCat when the library owns a copy of the film. If we don’t then links go to that movie’s record in IMDB.

1. Movies about the fashion makers and journalists themselves. These are either straight up bio-pics, like the several recent films on Chanel, or documentaries, like “The September Issue”. The library has a lot of these, which you can look at here:

StyleCat search for “fashion and documentary”

1a. TV/Films loosely about the fashion industry, slightly fictionalized:

So many good films! The “True Cost” documentary is also a great watch for those interested in sustainable fashion, eco-fashion and ethical fashion. –
