3D printed room with over 80 million surfaces

Now this is taking digital printing to a whole new level – Interior Design students – are you ready for this?  Digital Grotesque is a project by Michael Hansmeyer and Benjamin Dillenburger where  a fully enclosed room with over 80 million surfaces was printed in 1:3 ratio by a 3D printer. Amazing.

Below is a video, with Japanese titles, but I think anyone with a love for design, and quite honestly anything mathematically complex can appreciate some of the effects happening in the modeling.
