Introducing Precollege Blogger: Arden

ArdenIntile

I am Arden.

I am learning every day, every moment. Everything I see has its own value, being mindful allows me to have my own perspective of the world. Growing up in a suburban area has given me the experience of seeing everyone else go along with the crowd. Developing a sense of self-awareness has shaped my point of view and helped me to feel comfortable expressing my creativity even if it does not follow trend.

Born and raised in Livingston, New Jersey; just a town away from fashion icon Rachel Zoe (there’s hope for us all) and about an hour away from the best fashion school in NYC. This town has offered me the opportunity for a well-rounded education, which I have taken full advantage of. The environment is very competitive, ultimately preparing me for future battles. The art department in my high school is innovative and cutting edge. I am constantly seeking new techniques to improve my artistic abilities and my teachers offer the support necessary to reach my maximum potential. For that, I am appreciative.

I have been working ever so hard to earn a place at FIT. I have taken two Precollege courses prior to this one and crave more. Gaining the experience of what HAD 150 Magazine Design and HFS 182 Develop an Eye for Styling had to offer me has introduced me to different aspects of FIT. I have also benefited from meeting other students with similar interests and goals of succeeding in art and fashion. My goal is to have a career where I can express my creativity, because I find it important to earn money while doing something I love. This spring, I am signed up for HPH 159 Digital Camera Use and Photography for the Beginner and I am excited to begin! I’ve always had a desire to take photos. In this day and age it is so easy to pull out those iPhones to capture a vision. Because fashion photography is a career could see myself exploring in the future, it is important to me to improve my skills in this area.

The Precollege courses FIT offers allow students, such as myself, to take a natural ability and advance our skills to the fullest potential. The benefit of being able to explore a variety of different specialties within the field of fashion is an experience I am incredibly grateful for!
