While Bruno guides our students to research and write about illustration for Thesis in his “day job”, in his down time, he is one prolific artist! This weekend, he is in a group show at Drawing Rooms, Jersey City, AND part of the The 25th Annual Jersey City Art & Studio Tour is October 3rd & 4th, 2015!
Our own Cristy Road is featured in
NY Magazine in these endearing drawings about her visit with her abuela. Check out Cristy’s drawings in this week’s The Cut, focusing on self-reflection with a series of stories devoted to the art of memoir. So wonderful, Cristy!
Our fall semester is in full swing. And we are all BUSY! Here is the start of a few posts highlighting students, faculty and alums…
MARGO DABAIE, ’13
An official play poster!
“I wanted to share with you this official play poster that I created for Houseworld,a work of immersive theater now in its second season. I had the great chance to attend it several months ago and thought it was amazing; I was very honored that I was asked to do this.”
And there is more from Margo, who epitomizes “life after thesis.” Margo’s presence on panels and at conferences, speaking on her thesis topic, “Arab Women in Comics” and related areas is a stellar example of how the written research of the MFA in Illustration student complements the art and illustration that he/she produces.
New comic and interview for the Institute of Palestine Studies blog
“I also have a new(ish) comic on the blog for the Institute of Palestine Studies, Palestine Square. The comic deals with American perceptions of being an Arab. I was also interviewed by IPS, and they asked some good questions. You can check that out over here.”
