Linked in is a great way to make connections. \u00a0It\u2019s more than just having a profile. You can connect with people through Linked In groups. Once you\u2019re in a group, you can search the others in it and they will search you as well.\u00a0 It\u2019s getting on more sets of radar than ever before.<\/p>\n
All the CEO\u2019s of the top 50 companies in the US are on Linked In.\u00a0 That means they are accessible in some form.<\/p>\n
One method that has often worked for me when “linking in” with someone, is to erase the system’s automatic message and put in your own \u2026 like, “I\u2019ve done business with so and so at your company”\u2026. something\u00a0 more personal to tell them it\u2019s okay to connect with you. Once they\u2019ve accepted, you have access to each other\u2019s contacts.\u00a0\u00a0 Just make the connection.\u00a0 If they are interested, they will check out your profile.<\/p>\n
When you approach someone on Linked In, or any social networking venue, don\u2019t start selling yourself or your services. Occasionally, I get an email from someone who found me in a Linked In group. The email goes on forever about the company and all their services. \u00a0If the sender had taken the time to review my profile, they would see that I\u2019m competition and not in the market for their services.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t like it being done to you, don\u2019t do it to someone else.<\/p>\n
