ARTSpeak lecturer: Pedro Barbieto

As part of the ARTSpeak lecture series, Pedro Barbeito, a Brooklyn-based painter and printmaker, will speak about his studio practice and his creative process. Barbeito’s work explores the impact of digital image making on the history and language of painting by combining the imagery of painters such as Velazquez, Goya, and Picasso with the digital imagery of news media, science websites, and video games. ARTSpeak is a series presented by the departments of Fine Arts and History of Art; this year’s series theme is “In the Studio: Illuminating Process”.

The talk will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, Nov 26th, 2013, in The Katie Murphy Amphitheatre, in the Fred P. Pomerantz Art and Design Center (also known as the “D” Building), corner of 27th Street and 7th Avenue. The entire FIT community is invited, as well as the general public!
