{"id":830,"date":"2013-12-06T01:03:56","date_gmt":"2013-12-06T05:03:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.fitnyc.edu\/admissions\/?p=830"},"modified":"2013-12-06T01:07:22","modified_gmt":"2013-12-06T05:07:22","slug":"surviving-finals-week-101","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.fitnyc.edu\/admissions\/2013\/12\/06\/surviving-finals-week-101\/","title":{"rendered":"Surviving Finals Week 101"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So alas the dreaded time of the school year has arrived&#8230;FINALS. \u00a0It can be one of the most stressful and sleepless times of the year, but it doesn&#8217;t have to be. \u00a0I&#8217;ve got my tips on how to not only survive finals week, but to conquer finals week.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Ask questions!<\/strong><br \/>\nAsk your professors when the final is going to be, the format of the final (project, paper, exam), and if they have any recommendations on what mistakes former students commonly made. \u00a0If you show that you are interested in doing well in the class, more than likely, the professor will respond positively to your questions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stay organized<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is a note for the whole semester. \u00a0Everything should have a place and the place should have a place. \u00a0The more organized you are, the easier it is to crack down on studying.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prepare early on!<\/strong><br \/>\nI know that procrastination is the enemy, but around finals time, you&#8217;ve got to fight it. \u00a0Start studying early on so that when it comes down to the night before, you won&#8217;t be cramming, stressed out, or pulling ANY all nighters. \u00a0The earlier you start studying, the less cramming you have to do, the more confident you feel, the more sleep you get, the better grade in your hands!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sleep!<\/strong><br \/>\nThis only happens if you follow #3. \u00a0We all need our beauty sleep.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Take breaks!<\/strong><br \/>\nSet time goals for yourself and pencil in some much needed TLC. \u00a0Whether you are hitting the gym for an hour to burn off some steam, or if you are going to paint your nails, try and stay off social media&#8230;it&#8217;s addicting. \u00a0And if you dare touch Netflix, go for a 30 minute sitcom, not all 6 seasons of Gossip Girl.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Celebrate<\/strong><br \/>\nYou are all finished! \u00a0If it&#8217;s 1 final or all of your finals, be sure to go out with your friends Ben &amp; Jerry and celebrate your successful finals week! \u00a0You deserve it!<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;line-height: 1.714285714\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">Happy Finals Week! \u00a0And may the odds be ever in your favor.<br \/>\nAlso&#8230;be sure to return your rental books!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>xx,<br \/>\nAshley<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So alas the dreaded time of the school year has arrived&#8230;FINALS. \u00a0It can be one of the most stressful and sleepless times of the year, but it doesn&#8217;t have to be. \u00a0I&#8217;ve got my tips on how to not only survive finals week, but to conquer finals week.
