Gap Press comes in 3 versions: Pret a Porter, Men’s, and Haute Couture. These titles are published by Fujisan in Tokyo, Japan. Fujisan publishes several other titles about high fashion, Gap Collections and Fashion Show, both of which we also have. This title used to be published separately from its sister Gap Presses, but since fall/winter of 2014/2015 it has been published as a semi-annual part of the more frequent Women’s Pret a Porter.
Like our other titles Collezioni Donna and Fashion Show, this title features pages of photos from fashion catwalks in lush, glossy color. It covers the basic couture cities: Paris, London, Milan, Barcelona, and Tokyo. One advertiser of the title points out that it has “no fluffy articles, just professional photographs composed to show designs as seen on the runway.”
What’s special about this title is that it tends to include designers that haven’t become known in the U.S. yet. For this alone, it’s always worth flipping through. The rich images highlight the art of clothing that is couture.
