Novum Gebrauchsgraphik (World of Graphic Design) was first published in Munich, in 1924 as Gebrauchsgraphik, but our holdings span the years 1972-1988. These were some pretty important years in the world of graphic design, and this title is full of interesting images as well as discussion of contemporary ad campaigns.
This article talks about the magazine’s history in the context of the rise of graphic design in the early 20th-century Europe.
The magazine is still published, and has shifted from being printed in German to being bilingual German and English. Like many of our other graphic design titles, the website expands the coverage of the title into much more specific aspects of its subject.
