EduTech Day: Panel member Salman Khan’s “Khan Academy”
After hearing from Salman Khan at the “Social Media” panel at FIT’s EduTech Day last Thursday, I came across some great material that I wanted to share about Sal and his “Khan Academy.”
Sal started his educational video collection with a few algebra videos that he uploaded to YouTube to help tutor his cousins. He now has over 2,100 videos and exercises on his website on a variety of topics including math, science, history, and finance. The Khan Academy is on a mission to “deliver a world-class education to anyone anywhere,” and his site certainly offers great material for those who prefer a more self-paced learning environment.
You can find the Khan Academy’s massive library of free video lessons as well as some promotional material about their mission at http://www.khanacademy.org.
In the following video, Khan gave a fantastic presentation about his organization at the 2011 TED Talks a couple of weeks ago.
