My computer has stopped workign and i am trying to find out how to reach an IT person who can try to help me. Is here a location of the offices for help with laptops? or a number i can call to make an appointment?

Answer:

Hello Jennifer, thanks for your questions. The IT Help Desks located in C305B and Kaufman Hall assists students with their laptops by installing virus protection, removing viruses and helping them connect to the FIT network. However, the IT Help Desk does not assist students with hardware issues; computer wont turn on, screen is broken, keys not working, etc.

If you are having a hardware problem you may try contacting the technical support team for your computer brand (Apple, Dell, HP) check your manual and warranties for contact information. There are also locations that do assist with hardware issues for a fee, Best Buy’s Geek Squad and TekServe (Apple computers only) are two locations near FIT.

Hours for Customer Service:

Main Help Desk
Location: C305B
Monday-Thursday 8:30am to 10:00pm; Friday 8:30am to 9:00pm.
Laptop Walk-in Hours Monday-Friday 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

Kaufman Hall Help Desk
Location: Lobby
Monday-Thursday 9:00am to 2:00pm
