Studio D203 is open for business and all faculty and staff are welcome to come give this state-of-the-art multimedia workstation a test drive. This private room with sound proofed studio walls is fully equipped with a 2×2 Mac Dual-Core Intel Xeon computer, Sony DV deck with monitor and surround sound speakers. The workstation is loaded with Final Cut Pro Studio, Final Cut Express, and Quicktime10.
The grand opening editing space is in conjunction with a TDT workshop series in Final Cut Express for faculty and staff to learn how to edit videos, both for the classroom and for FIT’s new website. The workshops consist of two sessions over a two-week period and are taught by independent filmmaker, and TDT member, Vincent Sassone. To further boost the efficacy of these classes, the Team also offers a workshop in the Macintosh OS to ensure faculty can best navigate the Apple specific Final Cut software.
Studio D203 ensures that each participant has ample time and opportunity to solidify their education. This new editing station available to them for two weeks out of each month. Faculty and staff can schedule time to hone their skills in this studio before they take them to the classroom or web. The station will also be available for FIT editors who have pre-existing Final Cut training. To learn more about Studio D203 and how to reserve space please contact the TDT via email at TDT@fitnyc.edu. □
