Last term we surveyed our Precollege parents to see if they were interested in taking adult non-credit classes at FIT while their children were in Precollege Programs. You spoke and we listened!
The Enterprise Center and the Center for Professional Studies are offering quite a few courses this Spring which are scheduled at or close to the same time your children will be in our Precollege Saturday Live courses. Now, instead of hanging out in the lobbies or at the local coffee shop, you can take a course too! Areas of interest range from computer training to fashion business, from talks and tours to wearable and decorative arts. In fact, there are so many, we have decided to post a listing of them by topic once or twice each day for the duration of this week.
The first courses we’d like to inform you about focus on Computer Training: Design. Click on the title of the course below to view the description. To register, simply click on the “Register Online” link in the column to the right. To view a list of all adult credit and non-credit courses offered at FIT this Spring, visit this page. Computer Training in Design Courses
All designers are expected to be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Fashion Designers must be able to use Microsoft Excel for their specifications. Graphic Designers must know Adobe InDesign and can no longer ignore the web. There is no web design without video and jewelry designers are expected to understand 3D modeling. If your computer skills have not caught up with the times, or if you would like to take your design skills into a new area, these programs are for you.
