Instructor Spotlight: Jeanne Levinson

Jeanne Levinson is an experienced freelance textile designer in home furnishings whose clients have included Schumacher, Waverly, and Brunschwig & Fils. She graduated from U Mass., Dartmouth, B.S. in Textile Design and Fashion. Prof. Levinson has taught at FIT as an adjunct professor in the Textile/Surface/Fabric Styling Dept. since 2003 and at the Art Institute NYC since 2004. She has exhibited watercolors, pencil drawings, and collages.

Prof. Levinson teaches the following FIT Precollege Classes:
HFS 182 Develop an Eye for Styling

Teaching Philosophy:

When I teach, I expect my students to look at each assignment as an idea that will be expressed with paper, photos, and fabrics. How can you do that? What are you trying to say? I encourage them to approach their work in a variety of ways.
