Instructor Spotlight: Heather Falconer

Heather is a creative director based in New York City. Heather Falconer has ten years of experience in the fashion and publishing industry. She began by studying Fashion, Media and Promotion where she obtained a first class honors degree. Heather’s passion for the publishing industry was fuelled by contributing to Amelia’s Magazine, Tank, Fused, Condé Nast Traveller, and Drapers. In 2010 she launched her own print, online, and social media brand Spindle, and in 2014 Spindle Agency, a branch of Spindle Magazine which caters specifically to brands’ creative solutions. She also styled and worked on a mixture of fashion and music projects, including music videos and advertising campaigns. In 2016, Heather sold the Spindle brand and remained editor in chief until November 2017.

Industry Experience / Recent Exhibitions:

Heather is the founder of Spindle Magazine. She has also contributed to Wonderland and Hunger Magazine and has worked with publishing companies such as Dennis, Haymarket, and Condé Nast. Heather spearheaded Kangol’s first ever clothing collaboration with East London fashion brand Terrible Movement. She has also had a career as a stylist working for Sony Music, 4AD Records, MasterCard, Converse, Footlocker, and Benefit.

Some projects within the Spindle Agency included UKTI Great British Men’s Style Event at Soho House in NYC, and KNGLxTRRBL; a brand partnership between fashion giant Kangol and Hackney based streetwear brand Terrible Movement. Heather pioneered Kangol’s first ever clothing collaboration.

Heather has also hosted many fashion, art, and music events over the past decade, both in London and New York.
