Instructor Spotlight: Mary Costantitni

Mary Costantini is an Assistant Adjunct Professor at FIT in the Deprtment of Visual Presentation and Exhibit Design. Her love of art and Michelangelo lead her to study in Italy for 5 years and getting her masters in sculpture. After owning her own business in liturgical art and teaching at Caldwell College, she began sculpting mannequins and working in the visual industry. She then took on the Visual Director position for a large discount chain, opened 18 department stores in the New York metropolitan area and began teaching at FIT. She presently am teaching in the Visual Presentation and Exhibit Design Department and freelance special events and unique design projects.

Teaching Philosophy: Our work involves speaking to thousands people. It’s the most amazing thought that the window we create, the mannequins we dress or the ad we design can educate, inspire or put a smile on someone’s face. We can alter someone’s mood or vision or idea of fashion. This all starts in the classroom when we begin a project and learn the craft, technique and language of this very creative industry. The world is waiting for your ideas………
