Auf Wiedersehen

Auf Widersehen. For those of you who aren’t familiar with that popular German phrase spoken by Heidi Klum in Project Runway, it means good bye. I guess it’d be more fitting for me to say good bye in Jamaican, for that is why I’m farewelling, but you can never go wrong with Heidi Klum, can you? Anyhow, my dad decided to conveniently schedule our annual family summer vacation on the last week of F.I.T. I legitimately got upset at my dad for bringing us on vacation. You can imagine how off that sounded.. “DAD, I HATE YOU FOR TAKING US ON VACATION FOR TWO WEEKS!”

Well, this year we picked the beautiful country of Jamaica! I’m actually blogging from the resort right now.. Montego Bay to be precise. It’s really charming actually! I’m staying at the Hilton Rose Hall and they have a little corner with seating and free WiFi  Internet Café. The people here are very friendly, and I’d go into more detail, but I wasn’t chosen to write reviews for resorts, I was chosen to blog for F.I.T. Which is what I’m doing.

So. Here it goes. This experience has been completely life changing. Completely. Life. Changing. If it wasn’t for the courses I took, I’d still think I want to be an architect. Thankfully, after taking Architectural Rendering and Careers in Advertising and Marketing Communications, I decided that I want to pursue a career in marketing. Perhaps fashion marketing… aka a possible college application for F.I.T. Truthfully, I signed up for these courses because I didn’t get a job as a camp counselor. And I don’t think I’ll ever be so grateful for not getting a job. I came into these precollege courses thinking “okay this will just give me an idea of what I want to do and maybe what colleges I can/should apply to.” I didn’t even have F.I.T on my mind.. And now, F.I.T. is probably one of my top choices for undergraduate. I can already hear you yawning from reading about college, but it’s a reality. Being an incoming junior, it’s a reality I have to face very soon.
