Time Flies: Submitting My FIT Application Materials

2011 has been such an amazing year for me. This year was a true learning experience: I discovered who I was, figured out what I wanted to do with my life and reached many goals. Applying to colleges is something you prepare for  your whole life, literally. I have worked so hard to get good grades, do extracurriculars and get involved in my community so that I can get into a good college. It felt so unreal that I was finally at this point in my life, it’s starting a new chapter.

So far, my senior year has brought many oppurtunites like FIT’s Precollege Programs. I’m excited that next year I will be starting college but … can’t I just stay in high school forever????? Just thinking about graduating makes me teary eyed. High school has really been amazing and I’m going to miss it.

So far, I have applied to FIT (durr), Parsons, Berkeley and Bridgeport … all for interior design. FIT and Parsons are my first choice. I submitted my essay to FIT a few days ago and it was reaaaalllllyyyy hard. It was like I couldn’t tell them in under 750 words, “PICK ME” and pressing submit was just an emotional mess! But everything is submitted now and if I’m meant to be at FIT then I’ll get in 🙂

Portfolios? I’m clueless, haven’t even started yet but I’m sure it will be amazing!

No matter what college I go to, I know I will be successful. I have excelled at everything my entire life simply because I work hard and never lose focus. I see myself owning my own design firm in the city. I think everyone should always remember that it is important to do what you love and success will follow.

I can’t wait to start my journey through college and see where life takes me.
