The project that Stephen Gardner, MFA ’11, started in his first semester at FIT keeps giving. Stephen, our lovable bloke from the England, and now a US citizen, started drawing in bars around NY for his sketchbook assignment. On to painting those drawings, then, mugs, calendars, a stream of interviews, awards, blogs, all about the landmark bars of NY. And now, a lecture at the Society of Illustrators in New York to celebrate the landmarks of New York. This should be great! Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Click here for the info.
We just heard from MFA grad Chad Wallace-his new book is beautiful and all digital-
complete with an animated trailer created by Chad!
“Seahorses” by Jennifer Keats Curtis is my first digitally rendered book for children. My experience in the Master of Fine Arts program at FIT has given me the skills required to stay current in a quickly changing field. This includes animating the first few pages of the book to be used as a promotional trailer. It’s a first step into a larger world as I explore the potential of moving/interactive e-books.”–Chad Wallace
