SPRING 2012 READY-TO-WEAR COLORS FROM NY, LONDON, MILAN and PARIS:NON-SEASONAL

THE COLOR CORNER

Looking at the new collections’ colors and fabrications, shapes and proportions for Spring 2012 makes you think that maybe, it is not really just spring. Maybe it is autumn or fall? Colors seem to be less seasonal and more developed through the guidance of color trending, retailing, globalization and designers’ personal sensibilities toward fashion.

So, these gorgeous autumnal greens, oranges, bricks, russets, teals and indigo in varying hues, shades, tints, values and casts come from Hermes, Akris, Stella McCartney, Haider Ackermann, Missoni, Balanciaga  and many more designers. Fabrications that were never used for spring, are now being explored, along with new technologies. It is not just a season of cottons, linens and silks with some polyesters. It is a season of rejoicing in all fabrications – knits, wovens, jacquards, embroideries, sequins, embellishments and hand work of all types and not seasonal. Different face finishing creates different color concepts and creates analogous color combinations. Let’s rejoice in all seasonal color!

  1. I LOVE these colors!! I was leaning towards the indigo / cobalt / turquoise hues for this winter. I feel inspired to knit now; love the bottom right ‘X’ motif shirt 🙂
