Fashion After Bark – Designer Recap

Well, the show was fabulous – the designers, dogs, and students that organized it were all great. I always have fun leading up to the show because I get to figure out which dogs and outfits pair up best, but to see it all come together is always exciting.

I know the Press didn’t list which designers did which outfits, so let me be the one to tell you! I have to apologize, currently my photos consist of backstage photos only. I used a few runway photos from fellow FIT staff. I haven’t had a chance to go through all the video and ‘pup’arazzi photos yet…

I have to thank Diane (Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals) and Linda (Posh Pets Rescue, in the photo below) for bringing these two adorable adoptable dogs to the show!

Lisa Barnes with her fab collection of alpaca sweaters that are super soft:

Dawn Deisler with all her hand-worked leather and feathers:

Wanda Jaller with her trendy colored raincoats, which I think fit perfectly no matter the size:

Abby Kass with her super cute and functional raincoat, toy, and bandanna:

Lauren Kmiotek with her fancy lace wedding dress:

Jessica Linder with all her regal formality and feathers, very royal wedding:

Susan Linton with her fancy lace dress and smashing coats:

Irene Liu with the cutest everyday sport coats and bag, the trench is a fav:

Lindsey McGraw with her awesome line of interchangeable sportswear for larger dogs, genius:

Keith Sanna with his usual frivolity and fabulous-ness:

  1. Thanks Paige for this awesome recap and for organizing an amazing fashion show! It was so much fun and I’m really glad that I got to be part of it. And congrats to all of the designers in the show! You really brought a whole new level of quality and style to pet fashion. I can’t wait for next year’s show!

  2. Yes, had a fabulous time! all the dogs did so well. when we (the designers) had to get up on stage to take our bow i think we all froze a little with all the lights and faces. but the pups did awesome!

Plus it was really great to see so many different styles and takes on “pet apparel” from one program. There surely was something to satisfy every dog’s personal style from a crazy peacock feather leash to classic trench šŸ™‚

  3. Fashion After Bark is the industries leading pet fashion show. FIT has extremely talented designers who are unmatched. Big thanks to Paige for organizing all the designers (prior to this job she must have heard cats for a living! hehehe)

Also, a big thanks to all the FIT Marketing people who worked countless hours in bring the runway to life. Its not a small task and many have failed before. But YOU made it happen with class! BRAVO!

This years event truly showcased the best of the best and I was so impressed with each and every designer. So inspiring and amazing what each of the designers has been able to create.

To design for mans best friend is an honor that each and every designer takes to heart. Be it apparel, furnishings or accessories each and every piece needs to speak to the pet and the owner.

Each designer is inspired by so many things in life. I would say that the FIT Pet Fashion Designers are innovative and are bringing the pet industry to new heights.

Its been an amazing journey and so wonderful to get to know each and every person at FIT. I highly suggest signing up for the program if you want real life experience in pet fashion design. The program helped me bring my dream to life. For a greater look at my designs please visit me online at http://www.luxurypets.com
