Wednesday May 1st was the Future of Fashion BFA Fashion Show at FIT in New York. One of the looks in my collection was shipped from Milan to be in the show! Out of over 200 fashion design graduates of the class of 2013, 90 were chosen from the specializations of Knitwear, Sportswear, Lingerie, Special Occasion, and Children’s wear to have their looks walk down the catwalk at the show. I was extatcic to be able to be a part of the show in New York all the way from Milan.

The past couple of days I have been working nonstop to get one of my garments ready in time to send it to NYC for the FIT BFA Fashion Show. This year they are representing some garments from the FIT Milan program in the show! It is a huge honor to be able to show my garments in both the New York and Milan shows. I was able to finish my first look just in time to be shipped off to NYC. Heres a sneak peek ….
This look is an oversized knit sweater with a pointed stitch that I designed on the ShimaSeki electronic knitting machines. The sweater is made of 100% mercerized cotton that was donated to me from FiloScozia. After the sweater is knit I hand dyed and hand painted it. The tights in the final look below are made from the print that I developed in my screen printing class in Lake Como. You can look to my creative portfolio to better understand the concept behind my collection:)
The FIT website has posted photos and bios of all of the FIT 2013 Fashion Design Graduates! We all wrote the bios and sent them in along with the photos. It is a type of yearbook if you will. They have a special section for the Milan students. Enjoy:)

On another note, I finally received my dyes that I ordered for my collection! They were stuck in customs for quite some time but now they are here and I just cant wait to get started with them. I’ll keep you all posted with progress photos.
Recently our project with Filoscozia for Premiere Vision has been getting some press! A couple of weeks ago one of my sketches for the project was featured in Fashion Magazine. My Sketch is the one on the far left.
A couple of days ago I found out that this project with Filoscozia was also featured on the Vogue Italia website! http://www.vogue.it/talents/concorsi-e-altro/2013/03/filoscozia-academy . If you go to the website and click to the second picture you will see my garment and my name! Both the website and the magazine are in italian but you can refer to my other blog posts to understand better what the project was all about.
