FYI Spring 2017

From our current issue:

Kelly BrennanDear Colleagues,

At FIT, we are excited to begin another spring semester. In the five years that I have been at the college, there have been so many amazing accomplishments by our students. The students in our Art and Design, Business and Technology, and Liberal Arts programs always seem to be on the cutting edge of some project. Here are a couple of highlights.

Many students attend FIT to prepare for careers that make a difference in the world. Gabriella Manduca, International Trade and Marketing, became a youth delegate to the U.N. this fall through the nongovernmental organization NAFSA: Association of International Educators, the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to international education and cultural exchange.

In October, our FIT Hives project premiered its documentary about the impact of bees on our lives. FIT Hives, developed by students Shona Neary, Fine Arts, and Sarah Langenbach, Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing, is an education program that includes maintaining a rooftop hive on campus. The intent is to connect FIT students—future industry leaders—with local beekeepers to develop sustainable methods of developing bee-derived resources for projects, products, and designs.

At FIT, we are committed to delivering an outstanding education focused on successful career preparation, while fostering the creative and futuristic thinking needed to make an impact in our world. I hope that you will partner with me to promote FIT to students who are interested in our programs.

Sincerely,
Kelly Brennan
Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success
