2016 Goals

Hey everyone,

So as the holidays are quickly leaving us already the new year approaches us. This year I decided its a year about me , I am going to travel, I am going to work harder then ever at my job, I am going to get straight A’s , oh and did I mention travel?! So far I have planned/ in the process of planning 5 trips I have been saving for this forever and I simply cant wait.

My first trip in January is Killington Vermont.

killington-grand-resortBesides loving to snow board and ski I was also born not to far from here and love visiting. I have family there and even though I have lived in New Jersey longer then I did there it will always feel like home when I return. I will be venturing on a three day ski trip with friends while staying in a hotel right on the mountain.

Then in February… its a girls trip to…. NEW ORLEANS !!

untitledMy two best friends and I are venturing our way to Mardi Gras the day after that is. Mardi Gras never seems to die down here and its ten times cheaper if you leave the day after. So we are staying for two days to immerse ourselves in rich new Orleans culture.

Then for my 22 birthday in June we are going to…. you guessed it, VEGAS

The Strip at night, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America - getty creative

I have always wanted to go here not just to gamble but to see all the attractions and different architecture that you cant find anywhere else.

Lastly I am planning a cruise with a bunch of my friends for graduation, even though I graduate in December everyone will be graduating next semester. ( Man time flies) So we decided to have one last trip before we all go off to our real jobs and cant take off time for a while.

2016 is going to be such an amazing year , and this is only the beginning of it!

What are your plans?

The Wrap Up

Hey everyone!

So the end of the semester is coming pretty quickly. I feel like it was just yesterday where I was writing about my goals for this semester, where I thought I would be and my expectations for my classes.

I must say I learned so much this semester and my life has changed so much in these past few months. My classes were all amazing the one class I highly recommend to anyone is Business Communications which is an English class taught by Professor Landman.  THE MOST beneficial course I have taken at FIT. It taught me how to write memos, fix my resume, and how to handle the work place in a much more professional manner. Don’t get me wrong it had its fair share of work but I believe it was beyond worth it.  I apply the things I learned to my everyday job, which is very hard to say about a lot of things you learn in High school, College ,ect

1212I also became an official licensed insurance producer in life, health, home and auto, all while being a full time employee and student ! ( I’m not going to lie it is something I am extremely proud of, because I never thought I would get through it). I also bought my very first car all on my own as well. ( Which you can see above ) Life is going great as of right now, I made it through the semester with  what looks like good grades so far ,working full time and you will soon be with my on my journey through only online classes next semester.

How was your semester ? Any struggles? How about recommendations to classes you took?

Happy Holidays,

Kailee

Keep Calm and Final On!

Well the clock is ticking and finals are just starting or are about to start for most of us. Its the time of the year that you don’t know if you should give up and watch some Netflix or push yourself to study more. So as these tough times start to approach us I have a few tips for you.

enhanced-buzz-6080-1367355540-4

Don’t waste time watching Netflix and telling yourself it will help you prepare. Because before you know it you’ll be a whole season into a show and finals are the next morning. So get motivated to study. Don’t sweat the small stuff , students typically don’t have many concerns around this time such as eating habits, makeup, working out, are usually not a main priority and that is ok , your final grade is what you worked for all semester.

Make a self created study guide , they are great tools when you rewrite the important information it helps you recall everything you went over this semester. Its also a handy thing to have to look over minutes before the exam. Finals do not have to be so terrible if you make good head way and are prepared. Study guides, study time, note cards and limited distractions are ideal in reducing the anxieties of finals week. Once in the study zone you may even enjoy it.

Cyber Tips for Cyber Monday

Although we all dread the lines for Black Friday there is something much easier a few days later which is Cyber Monday. ( This is when I do all my shopping) . Over the years I have realized a few things that can help maximize your savings and minimize your time online.

cyber-monday

  1. Sign up for Newsletters and follow your favorite stores on social media. Mainly Twitter most brands don’t want to mark up their entire website so they only offer special offers to devoted fans.
  2. . When first getting on the website hit the view all button and start from the button up, while most are shopping there way from the top down.
  3. Although I don’t highly  suggest it use an auto fill tool for your credit card and shipping address. There is a site called RoboForm which remembers your passwords to certain sites which I actually use all the time, and is very safe.
  4. Lastly remember some deals will get better if you wait till closer to Christmas, unless you know its going to sell out then my opinion is just put it in the bag.

Happy Shopping!

Free Events in NYC this December

Hey everyone!

Francis Bacon: Late Paintings – Gagosian Gallery, Lenox Hill Until December 12, 2015

Proceedings start at 7:00pm, but you will want to get there as early as you can to secure a spot. The actual lighting takes place at the end of the program; most of the two-hour event is devoted to celebrity performances.

Target First Saturday – Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park – Saturday December 5, 2015

The revered Brooklyn institution stays open late and waives admission on the first Saturday of every month. Attendees can take in performances and lectures, go on guided tours or sip wine between gallery browsing
