So we all know the talk about hurricane Joaquin which is planned to head our way Sunday or Monday. Even though we all tend to think the weather channel tends to bend the truth its better to be safe and ahead of the game than not prepared. The last time a hurricane headed our way was sandy and no one was nearly as prepared as they should have been.So I put together a little list for a safety kit that could help if not for this storm for the future.
First thing you will need to get is a water proof container and put the following inside:
- battery powered radio
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- First Aid Kit
- Moist towelettes
- Wrench to help turn off utilities
- Local Map
- Cell Phone Charger
- Non perishable food, with a manual can opener
- Water, at least one gallon
- Extra water and food if you have a pet
- Sleeping bag
- Matches in a water proof container
- fire extinguisher
- soap
- aspirin
- scissors
- tweezers
- bandages
