Seasonal Blues

As the autumn and winter months are upon us, it is prime time to get sick and miss your family and friends back home.  This stressful time with school alone can be enough to make you feel overwhelmed and getting sick on top of it all doesn’t help.  If by chance you do get sick or stressed, there are plenty of resources for you to get back on your feet ASAP!  If you aren’t local, making appointments at the doctors can be a daunting task, but I am here to help!

First things first, visit FIT’s Health Services located at A402.  You can visit their offices on a walk-in basis or by making an appointment in advanced here.  The fully certified staff is happy to help and will provide you with the necessities to feeling better soon!  The FIT Health Services is available to students with the FIT health insurance as well as students who have their own health insurance.

If you are looking to make an appointment with a specialist such as a dermatologist, ENT, or cardiologist, I highly recommend using Zoc Doc.  Zoc Doc is an online portal for finding doctors in your area.  You can read reviews, see if they accept your type of insurance, and schedule an appointment that works best with your schedule!  You can easily submit all of the annoying forms in advanced without taking out a pen or clipboard in the office.  I am very thankful that Zoc Doc exists.

If you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed, the FIT Counseling Center in A212B is there for support.  With readily available appointments, the Counseling Center can help you with any concerns that you have about your personal or academic well being.  No problem is too big, no problem is too small!  You’re never alone here at FIT.  There’s always someone that wants to help.

Remember to wash your hands and keep your distance from the sneezers!
